INDUSTRIAL HIGH-risk ENVIRONMENTS

Cleanroom technology is an aspect that plays a major role when setting up an environment in various cleanroom industries, preventing contamination from being present or developing. A correct system choice is partly determined by international standards (such as NEN-EN ISO-14644 -1 and GMP), guidelines and requirements underlying the industry and specific environment, the production process and/or product.

The industry also uses terms like Low-care, Medium-care, High-care and High-risk:

Low care
Environment where there is minimal or very limited risk of contamination or growth of micro-organisms during production or processing.

Medium care
Room where an increased filter class and overpressure is applied to control or reduce risk of contamination. Often in an environment where the product needs to be brought into a higher classified area at a later stage.

High Care
Enclosed area designed to high hygiene standards where practices regarding environment, personnel, product, equipment and packaging aim to minimise (microbiological) product contamination. Here, industry-related standards should be met where higher overpressure and filter classification play an important role and ideally physical (architectural) separations are present.

High Risk
An environment physically separated by floor, wall and ceiling systems, designed and arranged to a higher cleanliness classification where product contamination, with regard to space, personnel, product, equipment and packaging, is to be prevented or even reduced to extremely clean.

The constructive systems of Cleanroom Building & Construction Systems are used in various industries and classifications. Together with our partners, we carefully assess the scope and make a sound choice for application of the right system in the industry in which it applies: after all, why invest more than necessary?
